Mysore sandalwood needs little introduction. It has been the most prized sandalwood in the world for centuries — harvested from the heartwood of Santalum Album trees native to the Mysore region of India, with a warmth and creaminess that other sandalwood species rarely match.
This is a pure, unadulterated 2017 steam distillation. No dilution, no additives. It is the same oil I use as the carrier in the castoreum and hyraceum infusions, and as a base in several of the attars. If you want to understand why Mysore sandalwood sits at the heart of so much traditional perfumery, this is a good place to start.
Worn on its own it is calm, grounding, and quietly beautiful. As a base for layering with other fragrances it is exceptional — it smooths, extends, and elevates everything around it.

This is genuinely better than what I was expecting.. it has a very rich and clean sandalwood scent. I applied a very small amount and I am really happy with how long it’s lasted. The fragrance is amazing without a doubt, also it’s not too overpowering, the balance is on point to my preference.
