Attar is oil-based rather than alcohol-based, traditionally hand-blended and often built on a sandalwood base, and tends to sit closer to the skin and develop over hours rather than projecting outward the way a spray does. My guide on how to wear attar goes into this properly.
How do I know these materials are genuinely natural?
Because I work with each material myself, in small batches, and I'm happy to tell you exactly what's in a bottle and where it came from if you ask — there's no formulation hidden behind a fragrance house or a supplier I can't speak to. Materials like real musk, ambergris, and civet are matured and infused by hand here, not bought pre-blended, and the Mysore sandalwood is a genuine, unadulterated single-origin oil. If a material doesn't meet the standard I want, I don't use it — I'd rather leave something out than fake it.
